Dolson Avenue Medical is now treating patients in its new bigger office.
When Dr. Jay Spina opened Dolson Avenue Medical 30 years ago, he envisioned a place where providers of different specialties work closely together to better serve their patients. Dr. Spina graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in March 1981 and immediately joined his father’s practice in Liberty NY. After years of observing patients who were confused about the conflicting treatment options they were getting in a traditional healthcare setting, Dr. Spina decided that the best way to help patients was to have healthcare providers work together, instead of on their own.
“Seeing the way patients were handled by other practitioners or therapists, I knew I could do a much better job,” he recalls. “So instead of referring them out and the patients not being satisfied, I decided to provide the same care all in one place and now it’s working well for everyone involved. Patients love it.”
Dr. Jay Spina began a practice in Middletown New York in March 21, 1985 and has been at the same location for three decades. Dolson Avenue Medical has since then grown and taken on new dimensions. The practice now includes many different aspects of natural health care and physical medicine. The practice now comprises specialist and physicians in Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Nutritional Counseling. The result is a collaboration that would have been unthinkable years ago.
On October 10, 2016, thirty-one years since it first opened its doors, Dolson Avenue Medical said goodbye to its old home and moved to a bigger facility at 201 Dolson Avenue, Middletown NY.
Dr. Jay Spina has a family of nine Chiropractors including his four siblings as well as his wife, sister in law and parents.
